Fat Fingers And Toes

Since Christmas of last year, I am down 60lbs to about 205 lbs, which is incredible to me in the first place. I could probably stand to lose another 20 lbs, maybe more, but I don’t want to look like I’m dying of some sort of wasting disease. I should definitely be under 200lbs, and I don’t care about the number, but I no longer know what my ideal weight should be. I’m also not sure how much more weight I can lose without seriously working out, although I have heard that only 20% of weight loss ever comes from exercise; the rest is diet.
I cut out a lot of sugar, mostly in the way of soda and booze, and I eat lightly. I don’t restrict myself from anything, but I’m a bit more mindful of what I eat and when. I have never had a big appetite. I don’t think portion control was ever my problem, but I probably just easily ate more and figured that was normal. After several random illnesses, however, I think I developed a habit of just eating less, and now I’m full with less. It just happened.
Now that there seems to be a method to the madness, I feel confident that I can maintain this lifestyle and keep the weight off. I never eat crazy. I was exercising regularly and then fell off for a bit, but in my defense, it’s been brutally hot out. I’m not that much of a masochist. Still, a little walking is good for all parts of me, but especially the heart.
I have no plans of starving myself, but I’m motivated to stay relatively thin, thin for me anyway. I’m just 5’11”, not 7’, so 200lbs is still pretty big. If I had to guess, I would say that 185lbs would be an optimal weight, but that might be asking a bit too much unless I plan on joining a gym and actually dieting, neither of which I’m going to do. We’ll see. I’m not overly conscious of it, but I weigh myself from time to time.
I have learned that you lose weight in surprising places. You think about the obvious places first, mostly your torso, but you don’t realize that your fingers and feet get fat too. That doesn’t even seem reasonable, except we’ve all seen fat people with fat fingers and feet. When it’s you, you don’t think you have fat fingers and feet. Years ago, I lost 30lbs and was able to remove my old wedding ring for the first time in many years. I thought I was going to have to find someone to cut it off of me. One day, it slid off, almost by accident.
I have two pairs of flip-flops. A scruffy pair I tend to wear around the house, and a nicer pair I save for going out. One pair is just newer and cleaner than the other. Anyway, the scruffy pair are just worn out, or so I thought. I felt like they’d been stretched out, plus they were stained. Then I realized I was also swimming in my newer pair. My feet had lost weight, and now my flip flops were too damn big. That might sound logical to you, but it’s still bananas.
